While uploading data feed make sure you specify a target country on the setting page of your Google Base account. A target country is the location where you did like your items displayed in the search results. The target country United States will display listings in Google Base U.S. search results. You can submit up to 10 data feeds in your Google base account and with up to 100000 items in each feed. You can also pause or delete any data feed once uploaded and stop them from coming in search results. To track the effectiveness of the campaign Google base provides various statistics such as total impressions, clicks and page views for each item you post. What is PPC and how to make PPC marketing Successful

PPC or Pay per click is a form of an internet advertising, in which advertisers pay their host only when their ad is clicked. The same task can be accomplished either by advertising on Search engines or on any other content website. With search engines, advertisers normally bids on keyword phrases relevant to their target market but content sites charge a fixed price per click. What is Page Rank(Pigeon Rank) Technology?

We all are well known with the speed and accuracy of a Google search. It will be very interesting to know how our big brother Google manages to find those right results for every query as quickly as it does. The heart of Google's search technology is Pigeon Rank, a system for ranking web pages developed by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford University.

Now let see how these Pigeon Rank (Page Rank) technology works. Its success primarily relies on the superior trainability of the domestic pigeon and its unique capacity to recognize objects. The common gray pigeon can easily distinguish among items displaying only the minutest differences, an ability that enables it to select relevant web sites from among thousands of similar pages. At these point many of you might think that what a Pigeon takes the decision, how these is possible than to your surprise Pigeons are surprisingly adept at making instant judgments when confronted with difficult choices. This makes them suitable for any job requiring accurate and authoritative decision-making under pressure. Google collects those pigeons from city parks and plazas by Google’s pack of more than 500 phds, the pigeons are given a quick orientation on web site relevance and assigned to an appropriate data coop. Though at this point many of them can think that whether these are not against the law of animal but Google has done well to safeguard those pigeons. They are provided with all the comfort they require.

By collecting flocks of pigeons in dense clusters, Google is able to process search queries at speeds superior to traditional search engines. When a search query is submitted to Google, it is routed to a data coop where a monitor provides result pages at blazing speeds. When a relevant result is observed by one of the pigeons in the cluster, it strikes a rubber-coated steel bar with its beak, which assigns the page a Pigeon Rank value of one. For each peck, the Pigeon Rank increases. Those pages receiving the most pecks are returned at the top of the user's result page with the other results displayed in pecking order.

How does Google Collect and rank Results ?

The answer of which can solve the problem of many, so let see how Google Rank a particular web page. A lot of things have to happen before you see a web page containing your Google Search results. First of all Google Bot or crawler will try to crawl and index the billions of pages of the World Wide Web. Many of them still think that it is the Crawler or Google spider which roams the web (www) try to index the page but, it is not the fact. Google spider asks a web server to return a specified web page, than scans that web page for hyperlinks. Thus in these way Google spider will try to reach and crawl maximum page by following the link in similar way. So it is clear that Google spider can catch any particular page only if it will find its link from any page which is already indexed. Once the spider finds any particular page it allots a number so it can refer to the pages it fetched when required.

once the activity of crawling is completed than an indexing comes into action. Only crawling will not make the documents search-able. Under indexing each crawled pages are indexed for a particular term so that the server don't have to read the complete text of every document each time a search with particular keyword is made. For example the word "mobile" might occur in documents 1,3,5,7 and the word "Seo" might occur in documents 2,4,6,8. As soon as an index is build the next procedure is to rank the document in terms of relevancy.

Thus by the time Google will be ready to provide the results, for these they have to undertake below two activities:

1) Google server will try to find the set of pages that contain the user's query somewhere
2) Rank the matching pages in order of relevance.

Let make me more clear the above activity with an example of "Mobile" and "SEO". If any one makes the search by term “Mobile SEO” than the result will be as follows:

From the above table we can get that the term mobile and seo appear in 2 document(i.e. in 3 and 4).The list of documents that contain a word is called a "posting list", and looking for documents with both words is called "intersecting a posting list." So both these document will appear ahead of other document which contains only one word and there even exist competition between those two words. The one which seems more relevant will be presented as a top result. For these the Google use the Page Rank technology. We will learn more about Page Rank in the next coming post.
